BELLEVILLE, Ill. – As Gov.-elect J.B. Pritzker and Lt. Gov.-elect Juliana Stratton continue to unveil committees to advise their incoming administration, state Rep. Jay Hoffman, D-Swansea, has been appointed to co-chair the Restoring Illinois’ Infrastructure Committee.

“Illinois has not passed a comprehensive capital bill in nearly a decade,” Hoffman said. “It is time for us to consider strategic investments in horizontal and vertical infrastructure improvements that will help our state thrive.”

Hoffman’s appointment comes as the incoming Pritzker-Stratton administration continues to seek counsel from subject-matter experts regarding infrastructure enhancement and development. Hoffman is joined by Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, who will chair the 45-member committee; and Congressman Dan Lipinski, Congressman-elect Chuy Garcia and state Sen. Martin Sandoval, who will serve as co-chairs.

“I’m excited to get to work on this committee to start identifying the infrastructure needs of communities across Illinois and crafting bipartisan plans and solutions to rebuild our state,” Hoffman said. “I’m humbled and honored to serve in this role.”
