BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – As summer approaches, state Rep. Jonathan Carroll, D-Buffalo Grove, is encouraging local students interested in government, communications and public service to apply to his Summer Legislative Internship Program.
“Any high school or college students from the area with interests in government, communications and public service should apply for this exciting opportunity,” Carroll said. “My Summer Legislative Internship Program is a great fit for energetic young people interested in serving the public.”
Carroll’s Summer Legislative Internship Program offers young people the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in state government by interning in his constituent service office in Buffalo Grove. Intern responsibilities include assisting with community outreach, responding to constituents, researching constituent issues, and helping coordinate projects and events. The internship lasts from June through August, is unpaid, offers flexible work hours, and is great for building on one’s resume.
“I see it as my responsibility to help interested students learn more about how government works,” Carroll continued. “I look forward to meeting the new class of interns this summer.”
Applicants should send a cover letter and resume to repjonathancarroll@gmail.com or submit a paper version to Carroll’s full-time constituent service office at 830 S. Buffalo Grove Rd., Suite 120, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089.
