CHICAGO –State Rep. Fran Hurley, D-Chicago, with state Sen. Bill Cunningham and Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady, hosted a fun fair to educate children and their parents about health and safety on Saturday.

“It’s important that health and safety awareness starts at a young age,” said Hurley. “I was pleased to see great support from the community for this event, as the kids all had a wonderful time seeing the animals and learning about health and safety.”

More than 200 adults and children attended Hurley’s fun fair on Saturday, at which state and local government agencies had health and safety booths providing a wide range of family-friendly informational programs. Presenters included the Brookfield Zoo Ambassadors and the Orland Park Police and Fire Departments. Orland Township Health and Youth Services also offered free and discounted medical services such as vaccines and eye health testing on site to youth meeting certain eligibility requirements.
