EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – Interested in hearing from members of the local community, State Rep. LaToya Greenwood, D-East St. Louis, met with local residents for a cup of coffee to discuss issues and concerns and answers questions at her “Coffee and Conversation” at Sweet Katie Bee’s a local coffee shop in O’Fallon, IL.

“I understand that residents aren’t sometimes able to come by my district office because of their busy schedules but I want members of the community to know I strive to make myself available,” Greenwood said. “I appreciate all the local residents that spoke with me during my coffee and conversation and for also supporting local businesses in our community.”

Greenwood had the opportunity to discuss her latest piece of legislation, House Bill 5195, which provides students who are required to travel through high criminal activity areas with free transportation that reside within a mile and half of their school in an effort to help students feel safe and secure on their commute to and from school.
