CHICAGO – State Rep. Fran Hurley, D-Chicago, hosted a seminar on the topics of will and estate planning on February 1 at Barraco’s Restaurant in Mt. Greenwood. Attendees heard presentations from Tom Walsh, a local financial advisor from Edward Jones, Andy Kruger from American Funds, and Tom Olofsson, an estate planning attorney from Beverly.

“This seminar was a great opportunity for residents in our community to learn more about these important topics,” Hurley said. “Working to proactively have a plan in place regarding one’s own will and power of attorney can help provide peace of mind in the long-term.”

Attendees who provided feedback on the seminar found it to be very insightful. One of Hurley’s constituents, Patricia Hardmon of Beverly, learned about the seminar through Hurley’s Senior Advisory Committee and thought it was an informative and excellent presentation.

“I’m very glad residents enjoyed learning about the intricacies of creating a will, and the benefits of estate planning,” said Hurley.
