COLLINSVILLE, Ill. –State Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, visited the Maryville Community Library last week to read to children during storytime and participate in their arts and crafts session.
“As a lifelong educator, I understand the importance of introducing children to the joys of reading as early as possible,” said Stuart. “Now as state Representative, I am always looking for ways to work with the community to ensure all of our local students have the best opportunities possible. Participating in this event at the Maryville Library to help celebrate Library Lover’s Month was just one of the ways that I can collaborate with educators, students and community leaders to help our kids succeed.”
Stuart is hosting a number of local events during the ongoing spring legislative session. On Saturday, Feb. 10, Stuart is hosting Coffee with Katie at Conway’s Catering in Maryville from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
