DES PLAINES, Ill. – Continuing his efforts to help ease the income tax burden on local residents, state Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, has invited Carol Portman, President of the Taxpayers’ Federation of Illinois and Ralph Matire, Executive Director of the Center for Tax and budget Accountability, to host an Income Tax Relief Seminar this Saturday, January 20th, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Des Plaines Public Library, located at 1501 Ellinwood Avenue in Des Plaines.
“Throughout the community, I am constantly reminded that we are fighting against sky rocketing property and income taxes. It’s clear that the residents of Illinois need real tax relief for working and middle class families,” said Moylan, who has consistently voted for property tax relief and against the Illinois state income tax increase. “That is why I encourage all residents to come to my Income Tax Relief Seminar this Saturday, so we can continue to fight against higher taxes and help you save more of your hard earned money.”
At the meeting, Portman and Matire will give a detailed presentation about ways residents can take advantage of different tax credits. They will also address many growing concerns from both the new GOP Tax plan and the state’s income tax increase, which Moylan voted against. The attendees will also have the opportunity to ask the hosts any general questions or concerns they might have about their Illinois state income taxes.
