COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – To help residents save money on their electricity bills during the winter months, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, is partnering with the Citizens Utility Board to host a free utility bill clinic on Friday, Jan. 19, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Caseyville Community Center, located at 909 S. Main St. in Caseyville.
“With how volatile winter weather in the Metro East can be, it is extremely important that residents can afford to stay warm and safe,” said Stuart. “It’s imperative that my constituents are not being over-charged for their utility bills or using energy that they don’t need to. A little bit of savings on a utility bill can go a long way during these months, especially for those living on a fixed income.”
Attendees should bring a copy of their most recent electric, gas or phone bill to the event. Representatives from the non-profit Citizens Utility Board will be there to give one-on-one evaluations of the bills to analyze potential savings.
“I want to thank CUB for all of the hard work they have done on behalf of consumers and the millions of dollars they have saved hard-working families in Illinois,” continued Stuart. “I encourage anyone interested in saving money on their next utility bill to stop by this event for a free consultation.”
