ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – As a part of his ongoing work to work with local educators to ensure that every child receives a quality education, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, spent Monday shadowing Round Lake Village Elementary School Principal Andrew Wilson.
“I always appreciate the opportunity to visit with the professionals tasked with ensuring our children are receiving a top notch education that prepares them for high school and beyond,” Yingling said. “Monday’s opportunity to follow Principal Wilson, meet with staff and observe actual classroom instruction truly helps me as a lawmaker develop and support better policies that ensure our schools, their staff and students continue to succeed.”
During the visit, Yingling observed multiple classroom instructions and met with various department heads from the physical education, fine arts, music and technology fields. He also joined local first and second graders during their lunch hours. Yingling continues to meet with educators and advocates and supported a new monumental education funding overhaul which brings over 7 million new state dollars to schools throughout his district.
