Hernandez Partners with Community Organizations to Hold Holiday Food Drive through Dec. 19

CICERO, Ill. – State Rep. Elizabeth “Lisa” Hernandez, D-Cicero, is partnering up with the Little Village Chamber of Commerce, the Children’s Center of Cicero-Berwyn and the Town of Cicero to hold a holiday food drive from Dec. 1 to Dec. 19.

“This holiday season, I am encouraging friends and neighbors to join me in donating food items to ensure every family has the opportunity to enjoy a meal with their loved ones,” Hernandez said. “I have partnered up with local organizations to set up drop-off locations throughout our community, and I hope everyone is able to join us and give back.”

Hernandez is collecting non-perishable food items, including but not limited to, canned fruits and vegetables, flour, rice, cereal and peanut butter. Residents looking to participate in Hernandez’s food drive can drop off their donations at the following locations:

• Hernandez’s constituent service office, located at 2137 S. Lombard Avenue in Cicero;
• The Little Village Chamber of Commerce, located on the second floor of 3610 W. 26th St. in Chicago;
• Trinity Community Church, located at 7022 Riverside Dr. in Berwyn; and
• The Cicero Community Center, located at 2250 S. 49th Ave. in Cicero.

Donations at Hernandez’s office and the facilities of local organizations will be accepted through Tuesday, Dec. 19. Collected items will be donated to local food pantries throughout the community.
