Jones Holding Winter Clothing and Toy Collection Drive Across Area this December

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – In the spirit of the holiday season, State Rep. Thaddeus Jones, D-Calumet City, is hosting a Winter Clothing and Toy Drive this December. Donation drop off locations will be located throughout the area.

“The holidays are a great time of year spent with loved ones,” Jones said. “While many families are out purchasing gifts and wearing warm and comfy clothes, many others are struggling to get by. It is important that we do not forget about the less fortunate and take care of each other as a community.”

This December, Jones’ will be hosting a Winter Clothing and Toy Drive. New and gently used items will be accepted, such as winter coats, gloves, winter hats, scarfs, and toys. Donations will be collected through Friday, December 15. Donation drop off locations can be found at:

• Thornton Fractional North High School at 755 Pulaski Rd, Calumet City
• Gary Comer College Prep at 7131 S South Chicago Ave, Chicago
• Thornton Township High School at 15001 Broadway Ave, Harvey

“No one in our community should go through the winter without the clothing they need to keep warm,” Jones said. “By donating, we can help the less fortunate deal with the tough Chicago winters and bring smiles to the faces of children.”
