JOLIET, Ill. –State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, helped to thank local veterans and their families Saturday with an honorary free breakfast.

“Veterans and their families have made many sacrifices to help keep our nation safe,” Manley said. “Whether they served in World War II or serve today overseas, every veteran deserves to be recognized for the commitment and work that they do. Our communities owe them so much, and this breakfast was just a small way to show our appreciation.”

The Veterans Appreciation Breakfast was hosted by Manley, state Rep. Larry Walsh, Jr., D-Elwood, state Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, D-Joliet, and state Sen. Pat McGuire, D-Crest Hill. Over 100 veterans and their families attended the free breakfast. Volunteers from Plainfield’s Cub Scout Troop 99 assisted in serving meals to attendees.

“I would like to thank everyone who helped make this event a success,” Manley said. “It was wonderful to see the Cub Scouts and so many other people who took time out of their day to come support our veterans.”
