Jones-Backed Measure Protecting Women’s Health Will Be Signed Into Law

CALUMET CITY, Ill. – State Rep. Thaddeus Jones, D-Calumet City, released the following statement applauding the announcement that legislation protecting women’s access to reproductive health care will become law, protecting Illinois women’s health regardless of what Trump and his allies do in Washington:

“I worked to pass legislation ensuring women’s most personal medical decisions are only made by women and their doctors, never by politicians like Donald Trump. As this bill becomes law, Illinois women will know that no matter how many right-wing judges Trumps packs onto the Supreme Court, their health and their freedom will come first in Illinois.

“It is crucial that our state does everything it can to make sure that progress is not lost. I will continue to fight for the rights of women across our state.”
