JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, recently joined seniors from across the community at the Guardians of Golden Agers Resource Festival in Joliet.
“Seniors hold a special place in our community,” Manley said. “We have a responsibility to do everything we can to make sure they are taken care of. Fairs like this help educate everyone in our community about services that are available to help our seniors.”
Manley provided an update to seniors about what has been going on in Springfield. She shared with them her efforts to help reduce their property taxes through the expansion of homeowners’ exemptions for seniors and disabled veterans. Manley also discussed her efforts to protect that provide important assistance to seniors, including home health care and Meals on Wheels.
