Andrade Condemns Trump’s Decision To End Daca

CHICAGO – In response to President Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA), state Rep. Jaime Andrade, D-Chicago, released the following statement:

“President Trump’s decision to end DACA unfairly punishes young people who have spent almost their entire lives in this country. They grew up here, work here, study here and are raising their families here. To force them to leave is cruel and un-American.

“Dreamers and all immigrants deserve better than President Trump. It is more important now than ever before for Americans to resist divisive, discriminatory policies and stand up for American values.

“I remain committed to fighting against the Trump administration’s harmful agenda, and am very disappointed with Governor Rauner’s continued refusal to condemn this harmful and divisive policy.”
