ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. –To help local students have a leg up in a globalized economy, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, met with Math and Science Department Heads from Grayslake North High School District 127 to learn more about their proposals for a school curriculum that stresses hands on learning about the manufacturing and technology fields.
“In order to best prepare our children to compete at the next level academically and in an increasingly competitive job market, it is important they have every tool and background possible to set them up for success,” Yingling said. “Thursday’s visit with some of my district’s leaders in the math and science fields opened the door to new partnerships and may help lay the foundation for advancing educational programs for in-demand careers like the manufacturing and tech fields.”

State Rep. Sam Yingling speaks with Laura Bertman, and Kim Johnson, of D127 about the expansion of classroom programing that includes lessons in manufacturing, woodshop and agriculture.
