JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, and state Rep. Larry Walsh Jr., D-Joliet, recently met with local residents to discuss issues facing both Illinois and Will County.

“We like to make ourselves available to our constituents,” Manley said. “It’s important that we have the opportunity to answer questions and share factual information, that’s why these meetings are so important.”

Issues discussed at Manley and Walsh’s Coffee and Conversation at the Book and Bean in Joliet included the state budget and education funding reform. Carol Mulvihill, who was born in Joliet and has worked for the federal government in a variety of roles, met to discuss education funding reform.

“I appreciate that they took the time to come out and talk with us,” Mulvihill said. “There is so much going on and there is so much misinformation.”
