ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – In order to better advocate for area women, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is inviting local women to join his Women’s Issues Citizens’ Advisory Committee, which will meet on Thursday, Sept. 7 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at his constituent services office located at 1919 IL Rte. 83 in Round Lake Beach.

“Common-sense measures to protect women’s’ access to health care and ensure equal pay have been under attack by extreme right-wing politicians,” Yingling said.  “Meeting with residents impacted by these decisions at the state and federal level help me better understand their concerns and how best to advocate for them in our Capitol.”

Recently, Yingling helped to pass a new law that removes statute of limitations for sexual crimes against children, giving law enforcement more time to prosecute these crimes, and legislation expanding insurance coverage for breast cancer screenings for women at a higher risk of developing difficult-to-detect tumors.

Yingling is inviting anyone who has ideas for legislation or who would like to receive an update about what is happening in Springfield to join this committee. All meetings are free and open to all residents of the 62nd District.

“I continue to enlist the feedback of the people I serve by going door to door and hosting events,” Yingling continued. “My advisory committees enable me to tackle issue specific matters and I encourage people to contact my office if they are interested in serving on one of my committees.”

For more information, or to RSVP, please contact Yingling’s full-time constituent service office at 847-231-6262 or email him at RepSamYingling@gmail.com.
