JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, recently spent time visiting with local residents at Denny’s in Crest Hill. Manley spent time listening to their concerns and sharing what she is working on in Springfield to help protect seniors from dangerous cuts.

“Seniors are afraid right now,” said Catherin Mehozic, general manager at Denny’s. “They don’t know what’s going to happen to them if programs they rely on are cut.”

“Many programs that help seniors, like Meals on Wheels, are being cut on the federal and state level,” Manley said. “We need to be doing more to help our seniors living on fixed incomes and facing skyrocketing healthcare costs. That is why I am fighting to protect services that help seniors, including home health care, cancer screenings and more. I’m grateful to have opportunities like this where I can hear directly from residents in the community and let them know the facts and what I am doing to help them.”
