CHICAGO – To help connect pet owners with low-cost and free services for their pets, state Rep. Jaime Andrade, D-Chicago, is partnering with Ald. Ariel Reboyras’ office and Chicago Care and Animal control to host a pet fair on Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Federica Garcia Lorca Elementary School, located at 3231 N. Springfield Ave. in Chicago.
“Pets are often integral parts of our families, but caring for them can become a burdensome cost on family budgets,” Andrade said. “This pet fair will showcase different local services that can help improve the long-term health and safety of our pets at an affordable cost.”
Residents will be able to meet with vendors and get various services for their pets at the pet fair, including low-cost vaccinations, micro chipping and registration. Attendees are welcome to bring their pets on leashes or in carriers. The event is free and open to the public.
“While I continue working in Springfield to protect working families and increase funding for our neighborhood schools, it’s a priority of mine to continue to offer services like this pet fair to local residents,” Andrade said. “Over the summer, I will continue to talk to residents at their door and offer community events to help provide and connect residents to services.”
