Scherer Announces Award to Recognize Businesses that Give Back

DECATUR, Ill. – To help recognize area businesses that give back to the community, state Rep. Sue Scherer, D-Decatur, is inviting residents to submit nominations for her ‘Good Neighbor’ Business Award.

“Our area is fortunate to have a number of businesses that partner with the community to make it a better place to live and work,” Scherer said. “Those that go above and beyond deserve to be recognized for their good work.”

To nominate a business, send the business name, address, phone number, contact person, and reason for nominating this business as a “Good Neighbor” to Scherer’s Decatur office at 1301 E. Mound Rd., her Springfield office at E-2 Stratton Office Building, or email StateRepSue@gmail.com. All nominees that display a dedication to improving the community and show a willingness to go above and beyond to achieve that goal will be recognized.

“I care about our community, and I want to do my part to honor the people and the businesses that support it,” said Scherer. “I encourage residents who know of any businesses that give back to nominate them and help them get the recognition they deserve.”
