JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Larry Walsh, Jr., D-Joliet, recently recognized Joliet Central High School seniors Benjamin Hallihan and Vanessa Flores, who were chosen as this school year’s “Mr. and Ms. J” for their achievements in academics and community service.
“I would like to congratulate both Ben and Vanessa on being named this year’s Mr. and Ms. J,” Walsh said. “These two students represent the best qualities of our community and I wish them both future success.”
Each year, two seniors at Joliet Central High School are awarded the title of Mr. and Ms. J. Recipients are chosen by a committee that includes community members. This year’s Mr. J, Hallihan, will attend the University of Alabama and study physics and this year’s Ms. J, Flores, will attend Southeastern University and major in Children’s and Family Ministry.
