SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – In recognition of the Johns Hill Magnet School eighth grade boys basketball team winning the 2017 Illinois Elementary School Association Class 2A State Championship, state Rep. Sue Scherer, D-Decatur, recently introduced House Resolution 262 and welcomed the team to the Capitol.
“These young men and their coaches put in countless hours of hard work and serve as an example of dedication and commitment for our community,” said Scherer. “I’m excited to see that their efforts paid off during their first ever trip to the state tournament, and I wish them continued success after this historic season.”
