JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Larry Walsh, Jr., D-Elwood, and state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, recently met with area residents to discuss local issues and concerns at the Great American Bagel in Joliet.
“Illinois is facing a lot of complex issues right now, the most important being a lack of a complete state budget,” Walsh said. “I appreciate when residents take time to talk to us about what’s important to them and to hear their feedback about the issues going on in Springfield.”
Manley and Walsh held their second joint Coffee and Conversation Saturday, in which the legislators meet local residents in an informal setting to discuss state and local issues.
“Representative Walsh and I represent different districts, but we are members of the same community,” Manley said. “When residents share their experiences and insights with both of us, it makes us stronger advocates for our area in Springfield.”
ABATE Will County Chapter Treasurer Joan Lovera and her husband Joe spoke with Walsh and Manley, updating them on the organization’s efforts to promote motorcycle safety through public education.
“Representatives Manley and Walsh are always willing to hear our concerns,” said Joan Lovero. “They take the time to understand what our organization stands for and what we do to serve the community.”
