SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – While at the state Capitol for legislative session, state Rep. Michelle Mussman, D-Schaumburg, met with members of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police to discuss their agenda to make communities in Illinois safer.

“I’d like to take a moment to commend Police Chief David Schar of the Winfield Police Department and Deputy Police Chief Andy Johnson from Hanover Park Police Department, located in my district, for doing the vital work of keeping our families secure and out of harm’s way,” Mussman said. “Not only do these individuals commit themselves to public safety every day when they put on their badge – they have taken the initiative to become a part of the policymaking process by coming down to Springfield to talk with legislators about the challenges faced by police officers every day, and explain what we as lawmakers can do to help make our communities safer.”
