JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, recently hosted a discussion with residents at Our Lady of Angels Village, covering a range of social justice issues and providing an overview of best practices for citizens to communicate with elected officials
“I am so fortunate to have constituents who actively advocate for important social issues and help their legislators understand how policies impact people’s lives locally,” Manley said. “We had a thoughtful discussion on the state budget, Medicaid repayment and the recent uptick of civic engagement in the Joliet area.”
Accomplished author and attendee Sr. Juanita Ujcik, OSF, acknowledged Manley’s accessibility to her constituents. Ujcik, a criminal justice reform advocate, discussed her book “Let None Walk Alone” with Manley.
