VILLA PARK, Ill. – On Saturday, February 11th, state Rep. Deb Conroy, D-Villa Park, hosted a Coffee Shop Stop at Funky Java in Villa Park to discuss pressing issues with her community before heading to Springfield for session.
“While I was in the Capitol this week voting on bills in my committees and hearing Governor Rauner deliver his budget address, I had the concerns of my neighbors clearly in mind the entire time due to our recent conversation,” Conroy said. “When community members attend coffee shops and other events, their voices truly make a difference by helping me create policies and make informed votes that are responsive to the needs of people right here at home.”
At Saturday’s Coffee Shop Stop, Conroy discussed pressing state issues as well as the importance of civic education.
“The people in my community are engaged and looking to have a deeper understanding of the legislative process. People want to be involved. Because of their interest, I will be holding community discussions on civics beginning on Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m. at Funky Java.”
