CHICAGO –State Rep. John D’Amico, D-Chicago will continue to chair the House Committee on Transportation: Vehicles and Safety during the 100th General Assembly while serving on a number of other issues critical to the state of Illinois.

“As chairman of the Transportation: Vehicles and Safety committee, I will continue to focus on working with the Secretary of State’s Office to streamline and modernize services that keep motorists in Illinois safe,” D’Amico said. “I will also prioritize securing funding to improve our state’s infrastructure, which not only keeps motorists safe, but will create much-needed jobs for our community.”

In addition to chairing the Transportation: Vehicles and Safety committee, D’Amico is the vice-chair of the Transportation: Regulation, Roads, and Bridges committee, and will be serving on the Aging Committee, Labor and Commerce Committee and Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

“While I look forward to working with colleagues in committee on a number of issues that face our state, any discussion about the upcoming General Assembly must start with the need to pass a budget,” D’Amico said. “Within these committees, I will have an opportunity to share the concern of my district and make sure that our state is addressing the priorities that residents deserve.”
