JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, is encouraging local residents to contact her with legislative ideas to improve our state in advance of the new General Assembly that will convene in early January.

“Several piece of legislation that I sponsored while in the legislature came from conversations with constituents while in the community,” Manley said. “You would be surprised how a discussion that starts by running into someone at a local establishment can lead to a solution at the state level.”

Manley has consistently sought residents’ ideas to help make state government more efficient. She currently holds regular meetings with several citizen advisory committees, including ones consisting of retirees, women and veterans. Manley also holds multiple outreach events every month, including coffee shop stops, seminars on pertinent issues, and educational events for children. Manley also walks door-to-door to seek input directly from area residents.

“I remain committed to working hard to finding solutions to our state’s struggles, and we all have a role to play,” Manley continued. “They have an opportunity to play a vital role in the legislative process.”

If you have a legislative idea you would like Rep. Manley to consider, please call her constituent office at 815-725-2741 or e-mail repmanley@gmail.com.
