DECATUR, Ill. – With the spring legislative session set to begin next month, state Rep. Sue Scherer, D-Decatur, is reaching out to constituents for suggestions on potential legislation

“I care about the families in our community, and I want to hear their legislative ideas on how to improve our state,” Scherer said. “I learn so much about issues that affect people in my district from listening to people on their doorstep or attending community events, and I want residents’ input as I prepare my legislative agenda for this upcoming session.”

The Illinois General Assembly will reconvene for the spring session beginning in January. Scherer is asking constituents that have ideas for possible future laws to share their thoughts with her by contacting her constituent service office in Decatur at 217-877-9636, in Springfield at 217-524-0353 or by email at staterepsue@gmail.com.

“Legislation that we pass into law affects residents throughout my district, and I believe it is important that the people I represent have a say in how we govern our state,” Scherer said. “I look forward to hearing all the legislative ideas from members of our community as I keep working to make their lives a little better.”
