CHICAGO – State Rep. Sonya Harper, D-Chicago, is seeking input from residents on new legislative ideas for the upcoming legislative session this January.

“As I work to make my district a better place for everyone, it is important to me that I receive community feedback on bill ideas that I will pursue next year,” Harper said. “Local input on crafting new laws enables me to fight for what they believe is best for them and their families.”

To encourage more local participation in the democratic process, Harper is inviting residents to draft ideas for bill proposals they want to see become law one day. Ideas can be submitted to Harper’s office, located at 4926 S. Ashland, Chicago, IL 60609. Residents can also call her office at 773-925-6580, or email RepSonyaHarper@gmail.com. Harper’s office will accept ideas until Jan. 12, 2018.

“When addressing the challenges of our state, it’s critical that we look at ideas from different perspectives and different angles,” Harper said. “Nobody knows more about our community than the people who choose to live and work here. We have to make sure we listen to them.”
