HARRISBURG, Ill. – Leading up to the Christmas holiday, state Rep. Natalie Phelps Finnie,D-Elizabethtown, will be partnering with the Illinois state Treasurer’s office to host multiple I-Cash events in Southern Illinois.
“There is a large amount of unclaimed property with the state, and I-Cash is a great program that has been put into place to help connect folks with property that is rightfully theirs,” said Phelps Finnie. “This property can be in many forms, from uncashed life insurance policies to unclaimed security deposit boxes. I encourage folks to stop by to do a property search and file a claim for free.”
Phelps Finnie will be hosting I-Cash at the Metropolis Public Library, located at 317 Metropolis Street, on Dec. 18 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. The following day, she will also be hosting I-Cash at Big John Grocery, located at 1105 US-45 in Eldorado, on Dec. 18 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. These events are free and open to the public.
“Since the introduction of I-Cash, Illinoisans have been able to reclaim over $220 million in property,” continued Phelps Finnie. “I look forward to the opportunity to bring this program to different communities throughout Southern Illinois.”
