CHICAGO – State Rep. John D’Amico, D-Chicago, is thanking Monastero’s Ristorante & Banquets for excellent service to the community upon its closing on Nov. 18 after 55 years.

“I am sad to see Monastero’s close after 55 years of wonderful service,” said D’Amico. “Like so many people in our community, I have been dining there for as long as I can remember. We were always welcomed in with open arms. Thank you to the all the staff and for their hard work over the years, and good luck to the Monastero family on their future endeavors!”

Monastero’s was recently purchased by the Elim Romanian Pentecostal Church and will be remodeled into a church and community center at the end of the year. The Monastero family has no immediate plans for new projects or ventures after the restaurant served its last customer on Nov. 18.
