COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – To ensure that all residents have a chance to voice their opinions and concerns during the holiday season, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, will be hosting a Holiday Open House on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at her constituent services office, located at 2105 Vandalia St., Unit 16 in Collinsville.
“I understand that the holiday season is a busy time for everyone, whether it’s spending time with family or preparing for holiday celebrations, I want to make sure that my constituents’ voices are still heard,” Stuart said. “I am hosting this Holiday Open House so that people can come see our local office and enjoy some refreshments while discussing issues that matter to them.”
The open house will also serve as a clothing supply drive for the laid-off steelworkers. Rep. Stuart will be collecting winter clothing items of any size to donate to the Holiday Drive until December 19.
“As we all are able to celebrate the holiday season, it is always important to give back to those who are in need.” Stuart continued. “The Steelworkers Association of Active Retirees (SOAR), the United Way, and so many others in our community have come together to host this drive for families in need. I am glad to help in any way I can as these families get back on their feet. I hope everyone can attend the open house and donate any extra winter clothing they have at home.”
