ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, recently met with local artist and small business owner, Melissa Pierson of Melissa Blue Fine Art, to talk about the ways the state can better support the arts and entrepreneurs.

“Small business owners and artists like Melissa Pierson are the backbone of a strong, vibrant local economy,” Yingling said. “I appreciate the chance to visit her gallery and talk about the ways we can better support fine arts and local businesses in our region. Melissa is doing great work for our community, and this visit reinforced my commitment to helping promote Lake County as the premiere location to live, work and raise a family.”

Yingling, the son of small business owners and a small business owner himself, has supported a bold, pro-growth economic agenda that includes providing better tax incentives to small business owners and easing regulations and costs associated with licensing fees. He continues to visit with small business owners and recently hosted a round table discussion with representatives from local chambers of commerce.
