EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – In an effort to support young female students, State Rep. LaToya Greenwood, D-East St. Louis visited Gordon Bush Elementary to congratulate young women who were inducted into the PINNK program.

“It is important to support our young girls and create programs that will build their confidence and encourage them to be upstanding women in society and that is what the PINNK program aims to do,” Greenwood said. “I appreciate Principal Brittany Green and her staff for a wonderful initiative for our young girls and I look forward to meeting with the brilliant young ladies at Gordon Bush Elementary again.”

Greenwood met with 22 young girls at Gordon Bush Elementary school who were inducted into the PINNK program. This program is designed to increase confidence, courage, and a positive self-image for young girls. Principal Brittany Green and her staff work to facilitate the program and aims to expand the program by encouraging more young girls to join.
