CHICAGO – To empower local women with skills they can use to protect themselves during a threatening situation, state Rep. John D’Amico, D-Chicago, is hosting a free Women’s Self-Defense Seminar on Monday, November 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mayfair Library, located at 4400 W. Lawrence Ave. in Chicago.
“Some criminals target and attack local women,” said D’Amico. “That is why I am offering a women’s self-defense seminar – so local women can learn the techniques required to evade any coward how may unexpectedly attack them.”
Sgt. Larry Lindenman, a former Illinois State Police officer and self-defense instructor, will lead the seminar and teach attendees about how increase awareness and remove oneself from a dangerous situations.
