DECATUR, Ill. – State Rep. Sue Scherer, D-Decatur, is finding creative ways to engage with members of the community by highlighting local residents for her “Door of the Day” initiative through social media.

“I spend a lot of time knocking on doors talking to people in the community and our door of the day initiative is a way to recognize the contributions our local residents make to better our community,” Scherer said. “I care about the people in my district and I am always looking for creative ways to further engage with the members of our community so be on the lookout because your door may be the next door of the day.”

Scherer’s door of the day is an initiative that highlights local residents through social media and is an interactive way for people to engage with Scherer while she’s out knocking on doors and talking to members of the community. Door of the day recipients are highlighted on Scherer’s Facebook page which can be found at www.facebook.com/staterepsue. Local residents are encouraged to be on the lookout for Scherer at their door for an opportunity to be the next door of the day.
