AURORA, Ill. – Last week, state Rep. Linda Chapa LaVia, D-Aurora, and state Senator Linda Holmes, D-Aurora, partnered with the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) to host a utility bill clinic at the Prisco Community Center in Aurora.
“Hosting events with the Citizens Utility Board gives my constituents the opportunity to get a one-on-one analysis of their gas and electric bills and learn other ways to save money every month,” Chapa LaVia said. “CUB does a great job of identifying hidden fees and unnecessary charges, while educating consumers on energy conservation.”
In addition to reviewing utility bills, representatives from CUB also educated Aurora residents on ways to conserve energy in order to lower their utility bills, such as using LED or fluorescent light bulbs. CUB even provided residents who attended the clinic with energy-efficient light bulbs to take home.
“CUB is a great resource for constituents looking to save money and conserve energy,” Holmes said. “I’m happy that Rep. Chapa LaVia and I are able to connect our constituents to such important services.”
