JOLIET, Ill. – State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, is partnering with state Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, D-Shorewood, to host a free Community Shred Day in Romeoville.

“We are just learning about a huge data breach at Equifax that will affect millions of people across the country,” Manley said. “We all have to do everything possible to protect our social security numbers, bank account information and more from falling into the wrong hands. That’s why it’s so important to destroy all paper documents with personal information. I encourage you to join us to shred bank statements, credit card and more and help protect your identity.”

The event is free and open to the public. Residents are encouraged to bring any paper materials, up to two boxes, that they would like to have shredded.
