CALUMET CITY, Ill. – State Rep. Thaddeus Jones, D-Calumet City, state Rep. Will Davis, D-East Hazel Crest, and state Sen. Napoleon Harris, III, D-Harvey, are encouraging residents to donate supplies for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Donations of bottled water, diapers, soap, new toiletries and socks can be delivered to Beggars Pizza, located at 369 E. 147th St. in Harvey, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 10 p.m.

“During these times of tragedy, it is important that we come together and do what we can to help those who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey,” Jones said. “Disasters like this always hit underprivileged families hardest, so our simple donations can sometimes mean the difference between life and death for people in need. Your donation can make the difference for a family who has lost everything.”

Residents interested in donating monetarily towards the relief of Harvey victims can visit http://redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS or text HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation. For more information, please contact Jones’ constituent service office at 708-933-6018.

“I would like to say thank you to the first responders, relief organizations, and countless volunteers who have been on the ground since day one helping victims of Harvey,” Jones said. “Now it is our turn to do our part and help our brothers and sisters down in Houston and the surrounding area get back on their feet.”
