ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – Longtime environmental advocate state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, received a 100 percent rating from the Illinois Environmental Council for his 2017 pro-environment legislative voting record.

“I am honored to receive such high praise from Illinois premiere coalition of environmental activists,” Yingling said. “Conserving our natural resources is important to many Lake County residents, and green jobs and technologies are the economic driver of the future. The investments and initiatives we take now will ensure that Illinois is a leader in the green industry.”

The 2017 Environmental Scorecard included numerous legislative measures to expand clean energy programs, preserve Illinois’ natural resources and encourage the use of alternative energy through wind projects.

“Rep. Yingling is a leader for the environment in Springfield,” said IEC Executive Director Jen Walling. “Mr. Yingling voted 100% of the time with the environmental community on fourteen pieces of key legislation. The IEC is honored by Rep. Yingling’s dedication to Illinois’ environment and we look forward to working together in the future.”

State Rep. Sam Yingling, recently recognized by the Illinois Environmental Council for his 100% pro-environment voting record, invited advocates and concerned residents to join a discussion about conservation issues at Yingling’s Environmental Round Table in Grayslake’s Prairie Crossing Byron Colby Barn this past Monday.
