SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – State Rep. Michelle Mussman, D-Schaumburg, is hosting a community paper shred day on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot of Trickster Art Gallery, located at 190 S. Roselle Rd. in Schaumburg.

“I urge my neighbors to take advantage of this opportunity to destroy any documents with personal information like old bank account statements, credit card offers, outdated medical records and tax returns,” Mussman said. “Especially if you were affected by last month’s flash flood in Schaumburg, you now have a chance to safely dispose of water damaged papers from your home.”

There is a two box limit per car, and Boy Scouts from Troop #493 will be on hand to assist participants with carrying boxes from their car to the shred truck. Additionally, representatives from Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago Commissioner Martin Durkan’s office will be on hand to give away 30 oak tree saplings on a first come, first served basis.

The community paper shred day is free and open to the public.  For more information, please contact Mussman’s full-time constituent service office at 847-923-9104 or by email at StateRepMussman@gmail.com
