CHICAGO – During a recent weekend, Juliana Stratton, D-Chicago, took to knocking on doors in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago to speak with constituents and listen to their thoughts on the community and state.
“I am working to meet as many residents as possible,” Stratton said. “Many residents don’t have the time to come to town halls or events due to work, their responsibilities as a caretaker or a lack of transportation. As a result, I work incredibly hard to meet residents by knocking on as many doors as possible to hear their thoughts.”
Stratton regularly knocks on doors throughout the district, as she finds it is one of the best ways to speak with residents. During her time in Greater Grand Crossing, Stratton spoke with one family unhappy about Washington politicians trying to end Obama’s health care law, and another family that had sought services to better pave their alley. In addition to listening to residents and seeing how her office can assist, Stratton will pass out information about how to contact her constituent office, or flyers about upcoming events in the community.
“I will continue to knock on doors through this summer and fall,” Stratton continued. “If there is a neighborhood that you think I should visit, please contact my office at RepStratton5@gmail.com or 312-291-9443.”
