CHICAGO – To help families prepare for the upcoming school year, state Rep. Jaime Andrade, state Sen. Iris Martinez, and Ald. Ramirez-Rosa are inviting residents to a Back to School and Family Wellness Fair on Thursday, August 10, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Avondale-Logandale School located at 3212 W. George St.
“In years past we have had very successful events that give children in the community the school supplies they need to excel in their education,” Andrade said. “I would like to thank Senator Martinez and Alderman Rosa and I look forward to continuing to working together to best serve our residents and connect them to vital resources like this back to school fair.”
At the Back to School & Family Wellness Fairs students can receive free school supplies and backpacks—while supplies last—as well as free school physicals and other health screenings. Free health services will also be available to adults—including blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol screenings. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Andrade’s full-time constituent service office at 773-267-2880 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
