AURORA, Ill. – State Rep. Linda Chapa LaVia, D-Aurora, visited Rachel’s Learning Center Tuesday to discuss with facility administrators the recently enacted state budget and how to continue efforts that support Aurora’s most vulnerable population.
“Organizations like Rachel’s Learning Center deserve praise for their selfless efforts that put the needs of children and their families ahead of everything else,” Chapa LaVia said. “That is why I supported a budget that provides additional funding and resources to them, and other providers like them, so they would not be forced to shut their doors and stop helping those in need.”
During the meeting, Chapa LaVia learned about the services and programs that Rachel’s Learning Center delivers for the families they assist and was given a tour of the facility. During discussion, Chapa LaVia elaborated on the budget she supported, which includes funding for programs like the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), increases early childhood education funding by $50 million and allocates nearly $11 million more to Early Intervention programs.
