ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. John Connor, D-Lockport, announced his first annual school supply drive to benefit local schools and students in need.

“The new school year is an exciting time for students and often a very expensive time for parents and teachers,” said Connor. “Collecting school supplies to benefit students and schools in need is one way the community can come together, give back and help contribute to the success of all local students.”

Donations may be dropped off at Connor’s full-time Romeoville constituent services office located at 209 W. Romeo Rd. from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Items most in need include pencils, notebooks, glue sticks, looseleaf paper, crayons, markers, and classroom supplies like tissues, paper towels and dry erase markers.

“Teachers spend hundreds of dollars each year out of their own pockets for classroom school supplies,” Connor added. “The donations will collect will help supplement local classrooms and help to give hardworking teachers a break.”
