DES PLAINES, Ill. – Continuing his efforts to protect the financial integrity of residents in the community, state Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, hosted hundreds of local residents at his 5th Annual Community Shred day at the Juno Lighting Group on Saturday, June 17th.

“It is important that we bring resources to the district that will give residents the opportunity to protect their personal identity and financial integrity,” Moylan said. “With all the new scams out there, shredding your unneeded documents that have confidential information is one of best ways to protect yourself.”

Moylan was joined by state Senator Laura Murphy, 4th Ward Alderman Dick Sayad and the Des Plaines Journal & Topics as local residents stopped by to safely and securely shred their documents containing personal information.

“I’m glad so many people took advantage of this opportunity to shred their unneeded documents,” Moylan said. “Events like this are the most effective to take the appropriate steps to prevent any personal documents from ending up in the hands of criminals.”

Moylan serves the 55th District, which includes portions of Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Elk Grove Village, Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights, Rolling Meadows and Chicago.
