RED BUD, Ill. – To help keep residents updated on Second Amendment rights in Illinois, state Rep. Jerry Costello II, D-Smithton, is hosting a Gun Rights Update on April 20 in Sparta.
“Gun rights and the Second Amendment are an essential part of our way of life in Southern Illinois” said Costello. “I want to make sure that both gun owners and sportsmen are aware of firearms owner’s rights in the state of Illinois.”
The gun rights update will be held on April 20, 2017 at 5 p.m. at the Sparta VFW Post 2698, located at 1911 N. Market Street. Todd Vandermyde, with the NRA, will be on hand to help present new legislative updates and answer questions. The event is free and open to the public.
“I’m proud to stand in strong support of the Second Amendment, and to have a legislative agenda in Springfield that reflects the values of our hunters and sportsmen,” Costello said. “I would encourage anyone with interest in gun rights to attend this update, which will provide an open forum for residents to see what we are doing to help protect their constitutional rights.”
