SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Jerry Costello, D-Smithton, recently met with members of the Future Farmers of America in Springfield. Both Waterloo and Valmeyer FFA students visited the Capitol to discuss agricultural issues that are important to Southern Illinois.
“Agriculture is the largest industry in our state, and it was a pleasure to see so many high school students who are leaders in agriculture,” Costello said. “It’s always great to see local students from the 116th district, and to see them taking an active role in talking to legislators during their advocacy day. I will continue to defend the funding for programs like FFA that teach leadership and development skills through agricultural education.”
State Rep. Jerry Costello II represents Illinois’ 116th district, which includes all or parts of St. Clair, Randolph, Monroe, and Perry Counties. His office can be reached by phone at 618-282-7284 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
